I love the detail given in this video!

I usually feel obligated to tell readers about one or more things that will have an impact on the topic the author has ommited. This video is a rare exception because the author not only goes over the different permalink settings available to WordPress users but also when you would want to use them. The info is top notch and very accurate.

Personally, I hate the default WordPress Permalink setup. Displaying a post number and attaching it to a post instead of the post title seems worthless. I don’t know about you, but I don’t remember numbers near as well as I do post titles.

I prefer to make my Permalinks reflect the name of the post and nothing else. I guess that’s because I look at a post much the same as most people look at articles. To be honest, I don’t think this is unusual in any way. In reality a blog post is truly nothing more than an article in most instances. Most people who write posts wouldn’t even consider writing an article for a Directory. But the vast majority of bloggers use their posts in exactly the same way an article marketer would with an article published to a Directory.
